Sedat Çolak

As a person who has made the words honesty and discipline a focus for his entire life, Sedat Çolak was born in 2 February 1948 in Sakarya. Having graduated from primary, secondary and high schools in the town he was born, Çolak graduared from Yıldız Technical University Istanbul State Engineering and Architecture Academy Civil Engineering Deparment in 1973 with high degrees. After serving for the military between 1974-75 in Bornova, Izmir, he started his career there, in which he would achieve great success in the future.

Having developed today’s professional strategy many years ago with the motto “Delivering customer-oriented solutions, a commitment to creativity and expertise”, Çolak’s first business was Çolak Architecture Engineering Construction Contracting Management, founded in 1976. Founded right after that, GD Gayrimenkul Değerlendirme İnşaat Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. commenced its operations in 1978. Apart from that, Çolak commenced various other sectors as well. With Kuzuluk Mineral Water in 1975, Şerefiye Spring Water in 1979 and Anadolu Gıda Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. in 1981, he reinforced his reputability in business life.

Having made his breakthrough in food sector with Yuşa Et ve Et Ürünleri Sanayi ve Tic. A.Ş. (New Title) DESTINY GLOBAL founded at Sivas in 1984, Çolak earned his business the title of being the biggest meat and integrated plant of the Middle East and once again proved his expertise in this field. He not only managed to enhance his service range, but effectively provided employment, and founded Orpar Parke Forest Factory at Düzce in 1989.    

During 2006, Çolak, who commenced an important milestone in the business world with Falez Group, made a name for himself with the successful projects he carried out in many different fields, including the press sector. In the press sector (Tercüman Newspaper Licensee, Sakarya Newspaper Licensee, Akdeniz Söz Newspaper Licensee, and Tim TV Licensee), he embraced the broadcasting that is subjected to impartial press rules, honest and principled as a general rule in all of his press organs. For this reason, he faced all kinds of slander and defamation, but he never compromised on his principled publishing.

Çolak, who provides employment to thousands of people with the hundreds of projects he has completed and conducted in many sectors from tourism to construction, from food to media, from textile to health, from energy to mining and telecommunication, also carried out the same active and admirable projects in his social life.

Çolak has been involved in every branch of sports, both as a player and a manager, from having Fenerbahçe Sports Club Membership, which is one of the biggest clubs in Türkiye, to Sakarya Sports Management and apart from football, even having Tennis Fence Mountaineering Sports Club Membership. As a successful businessman, and as one of the founders of the Haliç University The Foundation For Children With Leukemia, he provided moral and material support to many other social responsibility projects.

Çolak, who becomes an important guide to young people with his extensive knowledge by saying “I believe that our excitement and imagination will carry Türkiye to a brighter future”, is a married man and a father of one daughter.
