Burdur SM Hotel Project

Within the scope of the Burdur Starium Project; the construction of a Shopping Center, Hotel and Gas Station has been started by Polidia Gayrimenkul Geliştirme İnşaat Yönetim ve Ticaret A.Ş. on a 38,000m2 land leased from Burdur Municipality for 30 years under the Build-Operate-Transfer system.

Burdur Province has witnessed many settlements in its rich history dating back to the Neolithic Age. Various sources and archaeological remains in the surrounding area point to the phases of this long history. However, since not enough research and excavations have been carried out, it is possible to determine the history of Burdur at least with its main lines. A large part of the provincial territory is within the borders of the ancient PISIDIA region.

Vegetation; Climate; Since the provincial territory is far away from the Mediterranean climate and due to the elevations in the southwest direction of the provincial territory, winters are cold and summers are hot. Most of the annual precipitation is in the form of rain and snow in winter. The average annual precipitation varies between 398-804 mm. The highest temperature is 26C 30C, the lowest temperature is 16C -20C and the annual average is around 11C 13C. Population; Although Burdur province shows a continuous increase, a rather slow growth is observed throughout Turkey. While the population of the province was 83.000 in the first census conducted in 1927, it reached 235.000 in 1980 and 248.000 in 1985. According to the 1990 census, it was 225,215. When the population density of the province is analyzed in comparison with the national average, it is seen that Burdur’s population density has always been below the national average. Since 1960, there has been a significant decrease in the population growth rate as a result of low fertility and migration to neighboring provinces.
