The biggest investment of GAP comes from South Korea!

The Koreans, who come to the fore with the nuclear plant in Sinop, makes the biggest investment of the GAP Region, which quickly became a shining star. Korean GP Group ring up the curtain for a 1 billion dollar project with Uzman Yatırım Holding.

Agriculture, which is the only sector that grew by 4% in the crisis environment in Türkiye, received the attention of foreign investers. Following the Saudi Arabian and Kuwaiti companies’ announcements that they will invest in the Southeastern Anatolia Project (GAP), the first concrete step came from South Korea.

South Korean GP Group LLC, signed an agreement to make their investments with Uzman Yatırım Holding by purchasing 3 million decares of land from Diyarbakır, Şanlıurfa, Mardin, Tokat, Eskişehir and Sakarya. GP-Uzman A.Ş., founded by Uzman Yatırım Holding and the South Korean company will take the first step of their investment, which will amount to several billion dollars, simultaneously in Tokat and the GAP region.

MEETINGS WERE GOING ON FOR A YEAR

Chairman of the Uzman Yatırım Holding, Sedat Çolak, stated that the negotiations with the GP Group LLC company, which have been going on for 1 year, finally concluded with a signature the previous day and “As a result of Turkey’s great agricultural potential, economic stability and our company’s initiatives, we signed a co-investment agreement with the South Korean company, South Korea Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Young-Je Ha and Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Forestry İrfan Çelik were also present at the signature ceremony,” he said.

ALL FINANCIAL SUPPORT COMES FROM GP GROUP

Stating that the efforts to reforest the lands that have lost their forestry quality and to produce raw materials for the wood industry will be the main focus, Çolak emphasized that thousands of employment opportunities will be created. Stating that the investments will be spread over a long term and a few billion dollars of resources will be brought to the Turkish economy, “The Korean company will meet the financing of the investments in the agriculture and Agricultural production and wood products will be sold both in the domestic market and will be exported” Çolak said. Emphasizing that the Turkish and South Korean governments have fully supported the project, “Deputy Minister of Agriculture Young-Je Ha stated that the South Korean government will also give their support” Çolak said.

The government’s 12 billion dollars project revived the GAP

GAP, which the government announced that it will receive investments of 12 billion dollars in 5 years, has become the favorite of investors. With the impact of Koç Group’s huge investments in the region, businessmen applied to the Regional Administration for 10 projects ranging from tourism to agriculture, from animal husbandry to medical material production. GAP Regional Administration Director Mehmet Açıkgöz said that, “Thanks to the government’s action plan, investment projects have started to flow to the GAP, and there will be no financial problems in that region.”

FOREIGNER’S ATTENTION ARE GREAT

Saying that about 800 groups visited the region recently and that there were Italian investors among them, “An Italian group is also about to sign the final agreements to make their production here” he added. And Vice President of Şanlıurfa Chamber of Industry and Commerce Bekir Sıtkı Baysoy stated that there was no room left in the organized industrial zone in the city at the time the government announced the GAP action plan and “If a company shows up and says that they want to make investments in here, we have no room to give. We are still working on the investment of the second organized industrial zone. Applications have already begun to be made for the second organized industrial zone, where 300 companies will make their production,” he said.

Communal residence projects are also to be designed.

Uzman Yatırım Holding will also design residence projects in Türkiye with the South Korean Company GP Group. The President of the Uzman Yatırım Holding, Sedat Çolak, who is still working on residence and construction projects in several provinces of Türkiye, said that many investments ranging from shopping malls to residence and villa projects are being planned. Antalya Falez stated that there will be a residence project with a shopping mall, school, hotel and 1.300 residences in the 620.000 decares of land. Çolak stated that the Ataşehir Hayal Project with 6 thousand residences and hospital facilities in cooperation with Harvard-Metodis Hospital Group in Antalya will be built and “Works regarding the new projects are on progress” he said.
